Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths…

…but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.

So, there is new State (Nth Carolina) legislature requiring schools to schedule time to have the Pledge of Allegience in the US.

Now, it is within anyone’s rights to not do this, especially atheists who will not use terms such as ‘Under God’.Why say a pledge you don’t mean? Thats lip service, and lacks integrity.

Those are fine words. Now, lets say you are 8 grader, and your teacher tells you that you HAVE to do this, even though your parents say you don’t. How much courage does it take to stand up for yourself in that situation? Massive amounts. But this isn’t mere hypothesis. Pledge Of Allegiance

Further comments here.

Kudos to this boy and his enlightened family.

Thanks for the link. Just a small erratum: 8th grade, not 8 years old.
