First-Grader Suspended Over Plastic Squirt Gun
Seriously. A 6 year old is suspended for having his bright orange plastic gun at school. Yep, this toy is counted as a weapon under the local school district policy.
Yes, its America. No, I was *shocked* too.
FOLLOW UP : The School Board has wiped the boy’s suspension, thus cleaning his school record (people, he is SIX, we are are talking about him having a *record* for carrying a toy???). However, they said “The code of conduct, as it stands for this school year, will remain”. Hopefully, next year, sanity may prevail.
