Pleasure in the job…

…put perfection in the work.

I wrote before about my Creative Zen Vision:M. It is working sweetly under Linux thanks to this HowTo, and today I got to use another magic feature:)

So, I have been fixing a friend’s system, and was backing up her data (about 2.6gb worth) over the network. Even Tar and Gzipped, t’was slow, so slow!

However, I remembered you could setup a part of your Creative Zen Vision:M as a removable hard drive - it has set sizes, 512mb, 1gb, 2gb, 4gb, etc. Cool, selected 4gb, plugged it into her computer while running Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy) as a LiveCD, and up popped the file manager with the drive, all ready to write to.

And it did. This rocks.

Freedom of speech…

October 28th, 2006 by timelady

…and freedom of action are meaningless without freedom to think. And there is no freedom of thought without doubt.

The USA - Land of the Not Free. Proud oppressor of Free Speech. No wonder Rolling Stone has an article on the Worst Congress Ever.
So, the Army in Iraq is allowed to vote in elections. Just not access information sites and blogs that AREN’T pro-Republican, such as Wonkette.

The Dixie Chicks copped a hell of a serve for their criticism of George Bush when the USA first invaded Iraq. Now, a documentary about that shameful attack on their free speech rights, has itself been treated with disregard for free speech.

He who does not punish evil…

…commands it to be done.

The Vice President of the USA not only admits the CIA uses waterboarding as a form of torture, sorry, ‘interrogation’, but claims its use is a ‘non-brainer’ for him.

Cheney endorses simulated drowning.

Don’t know about non-brainer. Non-decent, non-ethical, non-just…

When they did his heart operation, did they just REMOVE the damned thing??????

…for chess.

Never mastered chess. It eludes me, somehow. Been trying to work it out for years, but being directionally challenged limits me.

Also, never really got into video games. And no wonder, with game titles like these! Check out the 50 worst video game names.

There are toys…
