Anyone know the quote today? Come on people, don’t let me down! It is Marvin, my favourite little paranoid android, from Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy. Ok, I also like Radiohead’s Paranoid Android, calm down:)
But, today is definitely the geek day of Android - and if I was Palm, and Apple, I would be somewhat paranoid.
Why? Because Google has announced its big phone surprise, Android, and it isn’t an actual phone. It is in fact, what it calls ‘the first truly open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices. It includes an operating system, user-interface and applications’. It has also announced this is done in cooperation with the Open Handset Alliance, which includes more than 30 technology and mobile leaders including Motorola, Qualcomm, HTC and T-Mobile.
It is Open Source, baby. Yeah, the good stuff:)
